Liquid Trees

Liquid Trees

Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India

Neutralizes pollution by capturing pollutants and CO2 via microscopic silica algae (diatoms) in open water bodies

Our technology offers an integrated approach to mitigate climate change and restore river ecosystems while making a transformative impact on local ecosystem of Indian river bodies especially The Hindon and the Yamuna River. River systems themselves accumulate carbon, having a valuable contribution as a carbon sink and in the global carbon cycle. Bioremediation technology using Diatoms developed by Liquid Trees utilizes the natural capabilities of diatoms to remove or degrade organic and inorganic contaminants from the polluted water bodies, reducing the risk of health problems and ultimately improve the quality of the environment.

Carboniferous

Black Sea

Sinks leftover surgar cane and corn fibre into the deep ocean.

Carboniferous is safely and purposefully replicating the process of anoxic biomass carbon sequestration. We are a BiCRS pathway, storing terrestrial biomass in naturally forming permanent anoxic basins under the ocean.

Vaulted Deep LA Injection Site

Los Angeles, CA, USA

Buries sludgy organic waste.

Vaulted Deep injects organic waste into durable wells, where the carbon in the waste is sequestered as it decomposes. Using a specialized slurry injection technology, their process can handle a wide range of organic carbon sources with minimal energy and upfront processing. Their system has the potential to be deployed quickly at large scales.

Loblolly

Pine Bluff, AR, USA

Buys waste biomass and encases it preventing decomposition.

Combining photosynthesis with practical engineering, Graphyte’s Carbon Casting technology provides an immediate pathway for billions of tons of low-cost, permanent carbon removal. With levelized production costs at under $100/ton with minimal energy requirements, we can remove CO2 for 1,000+ years. Graphyte is in the process of building its first plant in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, near local timber and rice mills that could serve as biomass sources. The facility will, at first, be able to process and store carbon at a rate of about 5,000 tons per year, but the goal is to expand that processing capacity to a rate of 50,000 tons per year in 2024 as well.

Rewind.earth

Black Sea

Sinking agricultural and forest waste.

Rewind uses cranes off of boats to sink agricultural and forest residues to the oxygenless bottom of the Black Sea, the largest anoxic body of water on Earth. Oxygenless water dramatically slows biomass decomposition. The lack of living organisms in the Black Sea limits any potential ecosystem risks. This process allows for affordable and environmentally safe carbon removal.
